Delhi's new chief minister in 2025

As of February 9, 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a majority in the Delhi Legislative Assembly election, winning 48 out of 70 seats. The party is currently in the process of selecting a Chief Minister to lead the new government. BJP President J.P. Nadda has met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss potential candidates for the position.

The BJP has not yet announced its choice for Chief Minister. The party campaigned without declaring a chief ministerial candidate, leading to speculation about who will assume the role.

Until the BJP officially appoints a new Chief Minister, Atishi Marlena, who was sworn in on September 21, 2024, following Arvind Kejriwal's resignation, continues to serve as the interim Chief Minister of Delhi.

The appointment of the new Chief Minister is anticipated to occur in the coming days, following internal deliberations within the BJP and consultations with the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
