Brazilian star Neymar fined $3.3 million

 





Brazilian   star football player Neymar was fined $3.3 million in July 2023 for violating environmental regulations during the construction of an artificial lake and beach at his mansion in Mangaratiba, on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. Authorities identified multiple infractions, including unauthorised construction work, illegal water diversion, and removal of land and vegetation without proper permits. Despite orders to halt the project, reports indicated that Neymar continued the construction and even hosted a party at the site. He was given 20 days to appeal the fine.

It's important to note that Neymar is a Brazilian footballer, not English.
